Canine Discoid Lupus & Swollen Nose
Our sweet Henry. One day we noticed his nose was a pale pink color instead of its normal black. We took him to the vet who informed us he has Canine Discoid Lupus. When I got home, I immediately Googled the condition and found that with Canine Discoid Lupus his nose can actually start to swell, crack and bleed over time. I wanted to make sure this never happened to Henry. So in my research, I found that systemic omegas were the way to go and there were some rave reviews about this Snout Soother. I was worried about putting something on Henry’s nose as I knew he would lick it off. That’s one of the things that’s so awesome about Snout Soother, it is safe and all-natural so even if he does lick it off it won’t hurt him. Without the pigment in his nose, not only is Canine Discoid Lupus a major concern for us but also skin cancer, so another bonus is the natural sunscreen it has. This product has been an amazing life saver for our family as it keeps Henry’s nose smooth, clean, and free of cracks and bleeding, and keeps Henry one happy dog! As the Snout Soother has been more a preventative measure for us during our fight against Canine Discoid Lupus, I don’t have photos of what he would look like without the Soother, but I have seen dogs with Canine Discoid Lupus without using anything and it is very sad. However, I did get some before [photos] of him not having it on for about a week. His nose already started to show a sore and looked very dry, swollen and discolored. You can see the immediate response after applying the Snout Soother. His nose isn’t as swollen, the color improves, no cracks, the sore is gone, it’s amazing. Not to mention the dirt it removes as it is an emollient. Thank you so much for making this amazing product it has truly been a God-send for us and of course for Henry!
UPDATE: Just wanted to tell you again what a difference it’s made for us, usually in a dog with Canine Discoid Lupus their noses are so sensitive you can’t touch them but I can even give my baby kisses on the snout and he doesn’t even flinch, thank you so much!
