How To Naturally Treat Dog Hyperkeratosis: Why Do Dogs Get Dry, Crusty Noses?

To naturally treat dog hyperkeratosis you need an understanding of your dog’s condition and what’s causing it to occur in the first place! Hyperkeratosis sounds scary but it’s simply a condition that causes your dog’s nose or paws to thicken and become excessively hard.

When your pet produces too much keratin, the fibrous proteins that make up the outer layer of skin, it causes excessive skin growth. As a result, you’ll start seeing a build-up of hard, thick, dry and calloused skin. If left untreated this brittle skin can crack, bleed, and even become infected.

Dog Nasal Hyperkeratosis Vs. Dog Foot Pad Hyperkeratosis

Hyperkeratosis is broken down into it’s two most common types: nasal hyperkeratosis and foot pad hyperkeratosis.

Example of Nasal Hyperkeratosis in Dogs

Nasal hyperkeratosis impacts your dog’s nose and muzzle area, while foot pad hyperkeratosis impacts your dog’s feet.

Both types of hyperkeratosis can be incredibly uncomfortable and even painful. Nasal hyperkeratosis prevents your dog from fully using their most valuable sense, their super powered snout. Dogs can smell with far greater capacity than humans, which is why they rely on their sense of smell to investigate the world and stay safe. Yet, in order for the magic to occur their snout must be wet. If your dog’s nose is dry and crusty it no longer functions the same way.

Foot pad hyperkeratosis causes its own sets of issues. Your dog walks around all day on his or her paws, and when paws are tender and sore it makes life more difficult. Dogs often spend a lot of time outdoors in dirt and other unclean surfaces, so dry, cracked paws could easily become infected. Some dogs even develop a limp as a result.

What Causes Dog Hyperkeratosis?

Most dogs could develop hyperkeratosis at any point. Certain dog breeds have a genetic predisposition to developing it more often, including Golden Retrievers, Irish and Bedlington Terriers, Labradors, and Dogues de Bordeaux. In most cases, if your dog’s genes caused the formation of hyperkeratosis it’ll show up within the first year of his or her life.

Idiopathic hyperkeratosis develops for unknown reasons and more commonly affects older dogs.

Dog Hyperkeratosis can also occur as a symptom of one of the following underlying issues:

  • Canine Distemper: A rare virus that can be avoided with proper puppy immunizations. Dogs with distemper develop a variety of symptoms, including nasal hyperkeratosis.
  • Leishmaniasis: A parasite-induced illness often related to sandflies that can cause hyperkeratosis. There are medications available to treat this illness.
  • Pemphigus Foliaceus: This is one of the most common autoimmune skin diseases in both cats and dogs. It causes hyperkeratosis to form on paw pads and is diagnosed with a biopsy.
  • Zinc Responsive Dermatosis: If your dog does not properly absorb Zinc they may develop zinc responsive dermatosis, and as a result hyperkeratosis. Zinc supplements are often prescribed as treatment.

Tara’s Nose is No Longer Dry & Crusty

Pre-Snout Soother, Tara was a skittish rescue dog with a crusty build up plaguing her nose. Luckily, her new life isn’t so scary, in fact it’s full of love, and she has a healed nose! Tara’s humom Victoria writes, “We got Tara from a rescue in January. She had this crusty stuff on her nose which appeared to be starting to occupy her left nostril.”

After taking Tara to the vet, Victoria was told that it wasn’t that severe. But Victoria didn’t believe that for one minute, “for us it was extremely concerning at that point.”

So, she did what any devoted dog mommy would… she went on the hunt for a solution via That’s where she stumbled upon Natural Dog Company and Snout Soother.

“I knew I didn’t want anything that could potentially make her [Tara] sick because of ingesting it. That’s why I chose to try, Snout Soother. It’s only been 2 weeks of daily use and her dry nose is almost completely healed! So happy Snout Soother worked so well for my dog’s dry and crusty nose!”

Bulldogs are Some of Snout Soother’s Biggest Fans

Bulldogs and other brachycephalic dog breeds are more prone to nose and skin ailments due to their short snouts and adorable wrinkles. Meet Bailey, an English bulldog from Conshohocken, Pennsylvania who used to suffer from a dry crusty nose that bothered her to the point she didn’t want anyone touching it.

“Our bully constantly has a dry nose throughout the winter months. It is obvious that it irritates her as it is very sensitive to the touch. We got our order on a Friday, and we applied the Snout Soother once to her nose. We applied Snout Soother once again on Saturday and already saw a difference by Sunday morning! Her nose is silky to the touch and does not bother her anymore.”

Are Dry Paw Pads Really That Bad?

Dry or cracked dog paws are often a source of irritation, leading to licking, chewing and an increased risk of bacterial infections. If your dog is constantly licking and chewing at his paws it’s likely a secondary infection could develop. Additionally, small cuts that form on dry paw pads can lead to pain, limping and reduced activity levels.

Before & After PawSoother Review: Maci-Grace

“My dog Maci-Grace had the roughest paws, and they feel as though they’re ready to crack at any minute,” writes Kassidy about her beloved pup. Kassidy and Maci-Grace officially kissed their paw worries goodbye after discovering PawSoother.

Yeast Infections in Dogs – How to Naturally Treat & Give Your Pup Some Relief

Is your dog’s skin itchy, irritated, red or inflamed? Yeast infections in dogs are rather common, especially for wrinkly pups. The Malassezia species of yeast is the responsible culprit. This type of yeast is normally found on the skin and ears of your dog, but when yeast populations bloom out of control it leads to irritation, infection and yeast dermatitis. So, while yeast is harmless in small quantities, overproduction of yeast causes irritation and inflammation of the skin. It’s not always clear why yeast overproduces but suppressed or imbalanced immune systems are often to blame.

Other common causes or contributing factors for yeast infections in dogs include:

  • Living in a hot or humid environment, conditions that help spur the overproduction of yeast.
  • Immunosuppressive drugs
  • Allergies to fleas
  • Exposure to contact allergens, including food, chemicals in the air, etc.
  • Prolonged usage of steroids or antibiotics
  • Hormonal imbalances related to disorders such as hypothyroidism or Cushing’s Disease
  • External parasites

Yeast Infections in Dogs with Skin Folds

Dogs with wrinkles and skin folds (hello all you adorable brachycephalic breeds!) are more likely to develop yeast infections. These skin folds provide the perfect environment for yeast to develop, especially if folds are not regularly cleaned and wiped dry.

Are Yeast Infections Contagious Amongst Dogs?

Simply put, no. Your dog cannot spread his infection to another dog and he didn’t develop it due to exposure to his four-legged friend next door. Instead, canine yeast infections of the skin are caused by an underlying allergy or skin condition.

When One Thing Leads to Another

Reoccurring bacterial skin infections put your dog at an increased risk for developing a yeast infection. The production of yeast can lead to increased oil production, causing dogs to itch and bite at the area, thus creating secondary sores that give yeast an even better shot at survival. So, while yeast infections in dogs are not contagious, they are sure to get worse without treatment.

How to Naturally Treat Yeast Infections in Dogs

There are two excellent all-natural solutions for treating yeast infections in dogs, one of which is made specifically for wrinkly pups—in fact, bullys all over the Internet are swooning over it!

Wrinkle Balm

Dogs with wrinkles are more likely to develop yeast infections. That’s because those adorable wrinkles are dark, moist, and likely under-cleaned; creating the ideal environment for bacteria and yeast to flourish. Wrinkle Balm gets to the root of the issue, because it is packed with all natural ingredients that contain anti-fungal properties proven capable of eradicating yeast. Plus, added vitamins and antioxidants improve skin fold condition and reduces risk for future infections.

Try Wrinkle Balm, risk-free! If you’re not 100% satisfied, we offer a money-back guarantee.

Skin Soother

Skin Soother is a natural antibiotic topical treatment that can be used to treat and soothe a variety of skin conditions, including yeast dermatosis. It’s filled with herbs that contain antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and anti-fungal properties. Skin Soother is the pawesome solution to yeast infections of the ears, tummies and other skin surfaces.

  • West Highland white terrier
  • Silky terrier
  • Lhasa apso

  • Shetland sheepdog

The PawTection Challenge Continues: Learn How To Protect Dog Paws

Want to pawtect your pup’s paws?

PawTection is the all natural way to protect dog paws!

The PawTection Challenge Continues with three more pawesome Instagrammers, @lifeofscout_, @bellethenewfie, and @eddthepug! Our mission is simple: Help protect as many dog paws as pawsible. Our all natural, vegan and organic PawTection does just that, providing a protective barrier against the elements and your dog’s paws.

Go ahead, call your dog over and take hold of his or her paw. Is it smooth to the touch or rough and cracked—like your heels after you miss a few months of pedicures? Your dog’s paws are tough but they are not tough enough to stand up to hot pavement on a summer’s day, or long runs on sandy beaches. Hence why your dog’s paws are rough and damaged. If you don’t protect dog paws, rough paws can become painful, cracked and infected.

While dog shoes are great for a hilarious Instagram video, they’re not exactly practical nor do dogs tend to like wearing them. No shoes necessary, PawTection provides seamless protection against:

  • Hot surfaces
  • Harsh elements (salts, ice, snow, rough terrain, etc.)
  • Contact allergens (mold, pollen, grass, etc.)

As part of our PawTection Challenge, we sent PawTection to some of the doggone biggest Instagram stars out there. Here’s what happened when these 3 cutie-pies gave PawTection a try!

Edd of @eddthepug

With over 100,000 Instagram followers and a little French bulldog brother (@archie_thefrenchbulldog) to look after, Edd the Pug lives a rather busy life. This popular pug spends a lot of time at the beach, and as we’ve said so many times before… sand is ruff on paws. It’s important to protect dog paws or else they are sure to get cracked and “scaly,” just like Edd’s.

Edd’s humom Andrea writes, “PawTection is amazing, we walk mainly on the beach where there is a lot of shingle, sand, salt and stones that are rough on a dogs paws, but pawTection is soothing and moisturizing. We have been using it before our walk and as you can see the difference it’s made in a few short weeks. The feel of the paw has changed too, it’s not dry or cracking and doesn’t feel scaly now. We will be using it to pawtect our paws from now on!”

Scout is a future therapy dog and beloved golden retriever with 27,000 followers to paw! Golden retrievers are ACTIVE and Scout’s paws showed clear signs of her nonstop activity. In fact, Scout’s rough paws led her humom Korrin to reach out to us.

“We originally reached out to The Natural Dog Company hoping to find a product that would help the roughness of Scout’s paws. Every time she pawed at us it felt like sand paper. I fell in love with the natural ingredients and the amazing reviews about the company. A cruelty free, veterinarian recommend, all natural and organic product… sign us up! It smells amazing and we didn’t have any issues getting it on her paws. A very thin layer is all you need. We loved the consistency because she wasn’t able to lick it off like a cream and it settled extremely fast unlike a liquid. After the first day we noticed how much healthier her paws looked and how much it protected her paws while we were outside. Having something that is preventative is so important with all of the adventures we go on. Thank you Natural Dog Company for helping our little girl have healthy paws again!” —Korrin, Scout’s humom

Owner Cures Itchy Red Dog Skin For Good, Here’s How She Did It

Lori Kavulish was sick of seeing her sweet Duilius suffer from itchy red dog skin. Yet year after year, Duilius (who goes by Duly) would rip and roll his way around the yard and end up with skin infections that itched and irritated him to no end. Lori started digging around for something to help her beloved pup.

Lori is far from the first dog owner to search: “how to get rid of itchy red dog skin.” In fact, thousands of pet owners are faced with the very same problem. That’s because just like humans, dogs are susceptible to a wide range of allergies, infections and other conditions that can surface through the skin.

Lori wanted an all-natural product, and who could blame her? A dog that’s vulnerable to allergies could potentially be made worse by harsh or artificial ingredients. Not to mention, dog’s love to lick themselves and so whatever you apply to itchy red dog skin is going to end up in your dog’s belly without doubt.

Lori needed a solution and fast. Just like Duly, many dogs develop itching as a symptom of their allergies. As they constantly scratch at already irritated skin they only make things worse.

Lori was hopeful when she came across Skin Soother, it was the all-natural solution she was seeking… but would it work for Duly?

Shortly after applying Skin Soother to Duly’s bright red tummy, Lori was delighted to see a dramatic change in her dog. Duly’s belly was healing right before her eyes and it wasn’t long before Duly’s skin looked like new. The best part of all? He wasn’t constantly scratching at himself and acting uncomfortable.

Lorie writes, “Duly has a beautiful green yard to dig and roll in with hundreds of things to irritate his skin. Every year he gets red, bumpy and itchy. I wanted something natural that worked. We were very pleased with the results.”

Regardless if your dog’s itching is isolated to an allergy or part of a larger bacterial infection, Skin Soother is packed with the vital ingredients necessary to take care of the problem.

Skin Soother has moisturizing properties that soothe and heal, as well as all-natural ingredients with the power to fight off yeast and other bacterial infections. With every ingredient carefully selected and sourced, you don’t have to worry if your dog eats the entire tube. It’s safe and soothing, which is just what the dogs ordered!

Before & After Review Highlight: Snout Soother for Bridging of the Spine (Spondylosis)

It is a sad fact that as dogs age, they will become more susceptible to various health conditions. You are likely to outlive your dog, and that means that as he or she ages, you will have to face any number of issues that could make him or her uncomfortable, and react accordingly. Aging dogs are prone to many of the physical conditions that plague humans as well, including arthritis, bone loss, and loss of muscle tone. Another common issue is bridging of the spine, or spondylosis.

What is Spondylosis?

Spondylosis is a condition of the spine that is seen most often in senior dogs. It is a degeneration of the spinal disks that can result in bone spurs that create bridges between the vertebrae, hence the term “bridging of the spine.” It can inhibit your dog’s flexibility, and reduce mobility. Any breed can develop this condition.

Causes of Spondylosis

Although old age cannot really be termed a cause of spondylosis, it does occur most often in dogs age 10 and older. Some experts think that every dog, if it lives long enough, will develop this condition. Your dog could have a genetic predisposition to developing spondylosis. Other causes can be stress, lack of exercise, injury or poor nutrition.

Symptoms of Spondylosis

You may not notice symptoms until quite late in your dog’s life. The most common indications of the disorder are difficulty moving, sensitivity to touch, limping, and stiffness. You may even notice growths along the spine.

Treatment for Spondylosis

Most of the time, you will not know that your dog has spondylosis until the vet has reason to do an x-ray. The condition cannot be cured or reversed, but it can be treated. In serious cases, surgery may be needed to remove the bone spurs. In less serious cases, your vet may simply recommend a pain medication to be used as needed. Overweight dogs may experience some relief if they can drop a few pounds.

Exercise is also recommended, and one of the best exercises is to take your dog swimming. It is one of the best low-impact exercises for both people and dogs, so if your dog is not afraid of water, suit up and get in the pool with him.

Spondylosis and Dehydration

A side effect of Spondylosis can be dehydration, so make sure that your dog has plenty of fresh water to drink. Dehydration can cause dryness, cracking and bleeding in your dog’s snout which just adds to the discomfort. To prevent dryness, or sooth it if it happens, Snout Soother from Natural Dog Company can make your aging dog much more comfortable. Here is a review from a satisfied owner of a dog with spondylosis:

Processed with Rookie

“Sending well wishes and thanks for an absolutely amazing product!! Pictured below is my Golden Retriever/Border Collie Mix who just celebrated his ninth birthday on June 12th. Buddy suffers from bridging of the spine where occasional meds & steroid shots are needed which causes dehydration (as you can see in the “before pics”) resulting in extreme cracking and drying out of his poor snout. I previously tried several products (GNC DOG ESSENTIALS: Nose Care” which I purchased from PetSmart, I cannot remember the other brand before that one) which did nothing for poor Buddy’s nose. I purchased the Snout Soother & Paw Soother and I am absolutely thankful for both. Thanks again for developing amazing products.”

Bridging of the spine can be a debilitating condition, and one that can break a dog owner’s heart. No one wants to see their best friend having difficulty with movement, or unable to play joyously the way he once did. Fortunately, there are treatments available for spondylosis that can help your dog to enjoy his senior years longer. The dehydration that goes hand in hand with spondylosis can also be eased by ensuring that fresh water is always available, and by treating a dry snout with an all-natural, vegan remedy like Snout Soother from Natural Dog Company.

One thing you will never have to worry about as your dog ages is not seeing the love in his or her eyes. Give that love back by taking extra care of them in their senior years.

Treating Hyperkeratosis in Dogs

Chase’s nose started showing immediate improvements once Snout Soother was applied to his sore, flaky dog nose.

Does your dog’s nose continually become rough before cracking? If so, it’s a possibility that your dog has hyperkeratosis, a disorder that can impact a dog’s nose and also their paw pads. Rough to the touch, this disorder can also cause your dog a lot of discomfort. Some dogs are born with it, while others develop it with age; it’s not uncommon for older dogs to suddenly develop hyperkeratosis. Think of your own feet when they have calluses, some calluses can even become very painful, and they never clear up if they are simply ignored. The same goes for dry dog noses, which thicken until they crack, and without proper nourishing treatment bigger problems will result. Such as, a dog’s nose breaking off and bleeding, leaving open wounds, which can easily become infected. Thankfully, even though canine hyperkeratosis is toted as a life-long disorder, there is a way to treat the symptoms and allow your dog to live a long life with a moist nose and smooth paw pads.

The Troubles Hyperkeratosis Can Cause

The top photo shows a dog with hyperkeratosis, the bottom picture shows the same dog after using Snout Soother.

We understand how much suffering pet owners go through as they try to diagnose and then treat hyperkeratosis.  Once identified, many veterinarians remain unable to provide any real relief to your dog, who is potentially in a lot of pain. Many dogs experience the majority of lesions on the top ridge of their nose; if these sores become large enough, some vets will routinely cut them off each time the chunks of skin build back up. Some admit to visiting the vet two times a week to have this procedure replicated; not only is this expensive, but it’s not doing anything to improve your dog’s nose health, it’s simply an aesthetic procedure. Dogs that suffer from hyperkeratosis of their paw pads can experience an equal amount of pain. In fact, if the lesions on their paws become bad enough, dogs will develop a limp.

Yet if you think about in simple terms, it seems the solution is not to cut away the dry and damaged skin, but to instead nourish and moisturize this cracked, peeling, and sensitive skin back to life. Using a special blend of all-natural ingredients, Snout Soother is created to do just that. We are proud to help dogs everywhere that suffer from hyperkeratosis, along with other nose-drying allergens and disorders.

Chase’s Testimonial

Chase the boxer knows what it is like to be afflicted by hyperkeratosis, in fact his entire family felt sympathy pains when they looked at Chase’s dry, cracking nose. When his nasal hyperkeratosis just wouldn’t clear up, they knew something had to be done. Thankfully, Cheyenne found her way to Snout Soother, and today Chase is looking and feeling his very best.

We recently received this testimonial from Chase and his family:

Chase is our third boxer and we have never experienced one with such a dry nose before! His poor nose was cracking so badly that fluff from blankets were catching on it and getting stuck. I came across the Snout Soother on Instagram and kept looking at all the before and after photos and knew I had to try it. I especially loved that it is all organic and natural. Ordered it online and it was delivered to my home within the same week. Applied it 2-3 times a day and couldn’t believe how quickly we saw results. On about day 2-3 little pieces were flaking off of the dry nose. By day five his nose was back to normal!! So happy!!! Thank you!!

Fighting Dry, Crusty Dog Noses: How Samson Got His Nose Back

crusty dry dog nose

Does your dog’s nose look dry and crusty like this?

When dogs have a chapped, dry or crusty nose they might appear to be fine, while actually in a world of hurt.

Dogs are the best medicine on the planet. They make us smile when skies are gray, and they always have a positive attitude, no matter what life throws their way. I wish I could be as happy-go-lucky as my dog, living in the moment instead of thinking endlessly about the past and future. But just because your dog wears a happy smile doesn’t mean they aren’t hurting. If your dog has a nose that is rough to the touch they need some relief, and fast! But how do you find an organic solution worthy of your perfect pooch?

Natural Dog Company originated out of a desire to help dogs everywhere find relief from nose conditions caused by anything from the weather to allergies. It’s hard to point out one single reason for crust to form on the dog’s nose. Some dog breeds experience these problems more than other breeds. For instance, we see so many bulldogs, pugs, and other short-nosed dog breeds that suffer from dry noses. Discoid Lupus in dogs causes the same crust on the nose. Collies, German Shepherds and Brittany’s are breeds that are most commonly affected by this disease. But that doesn’t mean every other breed of dog doesn’t come along with a dry nose here and there, because they most certainly do!

We are honored to have been able to help so many dogs win the battle against their dry snout. Each week we are THRILLED to continually receive amazing testimonials and photos, each one proving we are truly onto something, our product really does work!

Take Samson for example, he is not a short-nosed breed but he knows what it feels like to have a cracked, painful dog nose. According to his mom, the Omaha native enjoys using his nose as a garden shovel, which provides Samson with plenty of fun… but a very dry dog nose.

Samson’s nose before and after Snout Soother

While Samson continued to dig at the dirt with his dry nose, his mom could tell by simply looking at the cracks and flaking skin that her sweet pup was in pain. Samson’s human mom, Amy Bailey admits to trying everything to heal her dog’s nose before finding Snout Soother. She says, “I was constantly applying petroleum oil, lotion, etc. in an effort to heal and banish the painful looking cracks in my dog’s nose. Nothing worked!”

Then, after only one application of Snout Soother Samson’s nose was on the woof to recovery. Within 8 applications his nose was 100% healed, and organically so! Amy was amazed, and Samson rather pleased.

Sampson Full body

With his crusty, dry nose cured, Samson is happier than ever!

Amy and Samson are not alone we hear similar stories ALL OF THE TIME! While Samson’s tale took a happy turn, trying an array of random products on your dog’s nose can do more harm than good. Human lotions, for instance, contain fragrances and unnatural ingredients that can further irritate and burn the sensitive skin lining your dog’s nose.

Dogs may appear ruff and tough, but they are extremely sensitive to their environment and the products we use on them. In fact, dogs are more sensitive to toxic chemicals than humans—but still, many products made for dogs contain loads of potentially harmful toxins. This is why so many folks are turning to natural products for dogs. But even if a product is listed as ‘natural’ you must carefully read the ingredients to make sure that it actually is.

Understandably, when your canine is in need all you want to do is find a solution to help. Especially since your dog’s nose is such an important part of their everyday life. It allows them to investigate the world around them, using their super-sonic powers to pick up scents the human nose would fail to recognize any day. For this reason, people will try just about anything to make their dog’s crusty nose turn smooth and moist again. Thankfully, the solution for dry dog noses is SO simple it’s Snout Soother!

Samson is one of thousands of dogs that now happily enjoy life with a soft and smooth snout. While he still enjoys digging up the garden with his nose, Snout Soother protects Samson’s skin, keeping it healthy and moist no matter how much dirt he gets into.

Dogs of all shapes, sizes, breeds, and dispositions benefit from the healing, all-natural powers of Snout Soother.

If your four-legged friend is suffering from a dry, crusty dog nose we want to help. After all, our mission at Natural Dog has always been the same… Soothe, Heal, Wag!

Snout Soother is an all-natural product that is safe, effective, and proven to work, time and time again. Snout Soother is the go-to organic solution for dry dog nose relief. If you are not 100% satisfied with your results send it back to us for a full refund—guaranteed!

Are Allergies Irritating Your Dog’s Nose? Snout Soother Can Help!

This is Kai’s nose before Snout Soother treatment. Does your dog’s nose look like this? The cause could be allergies.

What are you allergic to? Is it pollen in the springtime, a certain laundry detergent brand, or a type of medication? Just like us, dogs are susceptible to allergies too—some more so than others. Sensitive canines can develop allergies to a number of things, from plastic to weather changes; often the first sign a dog has allergies shows up on their nose. In fact, a warm dry dog nose can indicate a number of problems, as a healthy dog should have a cold wet nose. Left dried out for too long and dog noses begin to crack, discolor, and even break off to the point of bleeding. When faced with this scenario, dog lovers understandably want quick answers; are allergies to blame, and are there any real solutions?

What Causes Dog Allergies?

A chapped or flakey dog nose is often the body’s reaction to something it doesn’t appreciate. Trying to isolate the cause of a specific ailment gets tricky, especially considering dogs can be allergic to almost anything, including the bowl they eat their food out of. In particular, dog bowls made with plastic and dyes can cause a dry nose. The weather can also play a part in irregular dog noses, just as our own skin dries out in frigid temperatures, so do dog noses. On the contrary, warm weather can reduce nose moisture temporarily, or create a pink and peeling sunburn. The cause of a dry nose can be as minimal as a pup spending too much time with his nose in the air, to as serious as cancer—although before you panic, know that canine cancer typically comes with more than just dryness and flaking.

How Can Snout Soother Help?

In hopes of reducing your dog’s exposure to allergens, you can switch dog bowls, change backyard plants, and even limit outdoor time against your dog’s wishes, but what do you do when nothing seems to be working? To soothe even the most sore and sensitive dog noses, Snout Soother includes a combination of carefully selected, natural ingredients proven to treat dry, cracked, flaking, dog noses—and paws too. Every ingredient plays its own special role treating a different part of the problem, such as Candelilla wax, the ingredient that keeps the balm in place, nourishing long after application. Don’t believe us? Just ask Benson and Kai, two adorable dogs that can both agree Snout Soother changed their lives.

Thanks to Snout Soother, Benson no longer suffers from a dry, cracked dog nose!

Meet Benson from Pennsylvania, a big black adorable dog with a lot of allergy sensitivities that cause his nose to dry out, crack and even break off in bloody chunks. Throughout the first years of his life, his family (the Miller’s) tried everything to ease his painful problem, until they started to think Benson’s dry nose was a permanent ailment. After trying Snout Soother, the Miller family couldn’t believe Benson’s nose actually looked normal for the first time ever. Overjoyed, they continued to use the product until it ran out, at which time they had started to take his wet nose for granted. Shortly after Snout Soother dried up, so did Benson’s nose again, that’s when the Miller’s knew, Benson would be a lifelong fan of Snout Soother.

Before Snout Soother, Kai’s nose would become so dry it would flake off in bloody pieces, he sure is happy to have a moist dog nose these days.

Kai is an equally adorable dog with another tale of recovery we are overjoyed to help make possible. Kai’s reaction to Snout Soother even surprised her veterinarian, who had been puzzled from the start about the original diagnoses and the lesions that continued to develop along the ridge of Kai’s nose. Chunks of skin were falling off regularly, to the point that Kai would be bleeding and in pain all too often. His family did everything they could to help their beloved dog, but nothing was working, that is until they gave Snout Soother a try. The first night after they applied the product, Kai’s nose was already less red. Within days the carefully sourced, natural nose balm turned out to be the answer to their prayers, as Kai now continues to live a happy healthy life with his gorgeous black nose always perfectly in tact.

At Natural Dog Company, it’s our mission to help as many dogs as possible, if your dog’s nose is dry, cracked, peeling, flaking, or showing any similar symptoms caused by dog allergies, Snout Soother has been specially formulated to work. Just as our mission states, Soothe, Heal, Wag; grant your dog instant relief, a healing solution, and a reason to wag their adorable little (or big) tail!

Snout Soother Treats Theo’s Canine Hyperkeratosis!

Dealing with a dry dog nose? One that seems to persist no matter what you do; is your dog’s nose so dry it is falling off in chunks? Theo, the French bulldog, displayed a dry, crusty dog nose his entire 3 years of life, leaving his owners completely stumped. It might surprise dog owners that even a trip to the vet might not deliver answers, as all too often hyperkeratosis goes undiagnosed and untreated. Here we provide answers how to naturally treat canine hyperkeratosis with Snout Soother.

Meet Theo! This cute little French bulldog has a perfect, flake-free canine nose now, but he was once bothered by hyperkeratosis. Thanks to Snout Soother, the all-natural soothing dog balm, your dog can find the same relief from hyperkeratosis as Theo!

Hyperkeratosis can develop on a dog’s nose or paws, causing the skin to appear dry, brittle, and often flake off in big, alarming chunks.  Sometimes known as canine nasal callus, hyperkeratosis is stereotypically seen in older dogs although young pups (like Theo) are often plagued by this condition as well. In order to treat hyperkeratosis you want to soften your canine’s nose; our specially formulated and all-natural dog product, Snout Soother, does just that, relieving dogs like Theo of hyperkeratosis for good!

When Theo’s dry French bulldog nose just wouldn’t get better, his parents decided to do some research online where they thankfully discovered Snout Soother and decided to give it a try. The results have been nothing short of amazing; here is Theo’s testimonial about Snout Soother and how it treats his canine hyperkeratosis.

“Improvement in Theo’s nose within the first few days….”

“Theo is our 3 1/2 year old French Bulldog. He has had this condition, which we now know to be hyperkeratosis, since we got him, but were never able to figure out what it was or what we needed to do about it. Several vets we visited had no answers but suggested putting a warm compress on it several times a day, which didn’t seem to ever help. It didn’t seem to bother him, so we were not ever that concerned about it. But recently after doing a little more online research we came across your product and decided to order it to see if it might help. And it worked amazingly well! We saw improvement in Theo’s nose in the first 2 days. The dryed out, horn like crusting on his dry nose just seemed to start breaking apart on day 2 and we were able to wipe it away and find a very healthy pink nose underneath. He doesn’t seem to mind when we put the Snout Soother on and we’re just hopeful maybe he’s feeling a little bit better not having such a dried out nose! Thanks so much for such a wonderful product!”

-AJ Maxwell
Denver, CO

Here are the before and after Snout Soother pictures of Theo’s nose. As you can see in the left image, his nose was dry and crusty, breaking off in brittle chunks. In the right image you can see how moist and healthy Theo’s dog nose looks now that his hyperkeratosis has been treated!

Woof, Woof! Another Satisfied Customer

Dog nose fungus doesn’t sound pretty–and it sure isn’t! Just ask Beanie the Boxer, a dog who once had fungus growing on her nose causing a scaly, rough dog nose that was painful to the touch. That is until her mom discovered all-natural  Snout Soother for dogs, now Beanie’s dog nose is happily fungus-free.

We enjoyed Beanie’s testimony so much we wanted to share it with everyone. Hopefully Beanie’s experience with boxer nose fungus can help other dogs out there find the relief they so desperately deserve.

This is the before and after Snout Soother photos of Beanie, a boxer that developed a nose fungus. Luckily her mom searched ‘Boxer Nose Fungus’ and found Snout Soother, now her boxer nose is healthy and fungus-free.

“We had a recent move across country and during that time I noticed our boxer, Beanie, had a rough looking patch on her nose. Since we were moving, I didn’t get a chance to take her to the vet and it got bigger and more irritated looking and she didn’t want it touched. I was worried it was some kind of fungus, so once we got settled in the new house, I googled “boxer nose fungus” and the first link was for Snout Soother.  I read through the testimonials and was very impressed so I placed an order. Within just 3 days of using Snout Soother, the rough, scaly skin was gone and her nose was looking shiny and healthy again. After a week of applying every day, I switched to once a week to maintain her new, beautiful nose!

“I just wanted to thank you for your awesome product! As you can see from the pics, you have another very satisfied customer! So glad we found you!”
